Horrabridge - P3
I had frequently driven past Horrabridge on the way to Tavistock, but I had never gone in to the village itself. Having read JH's description I thought it would be an ideal place to visit today as I had my grandson with me. We easily found the park, weir and salmon leap but could not find the pool where children can swim and play. One part of the river was fenced off so I wondered if this was it.
The village sign looked as if it had recently been renovated. But the inn, the Leaping Salmon, was closed and up for sale and its sign board was worn and faint.
Apart from the old road bridge there was footbridge over the river, this is called the Tilly Bridge which is names after the French town which Horrabridge is twinned with.
